Will a Swiss authority accept your translation?
Yes. Every certified translation is bound to a copy of the source document and carries our stamp, the translator's signature and a declaration of completeness and accuracy. Switzerland has no single national register of sworn translators, so authorities look at the certification and, where the document travels abroad, at the notarisation and apostille. Tell us which office will receive the file and we will apply the exact form it requires.
How much does a medical translation cost?
Price depends on word count, language combination, the level of specialisation and whether certification, notarisation or an apostille is needed. A one-page medical certificate is a small fixed fee; a fifty-page oncology file is quoted per word. Send the document and you get one figure that includes certification and postage, valid for thirty days.
Do you handle the apostille yourselves?
Yes. After certification we take the file to a notary, then to the state chancellery of the canton concerned for the apostille under the 1961 Hague Convention. If the destination country is not a party to that convention, the document continues to the Federal Chancellery, the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs and then the relevant embassy or consulate. You approve the route and the fees before we begin.
